Meet Your Pilot

Alaska Floatplane Pilot

Dean Lukin was born in Ketchikan, spent his early childhood in Thorne Bay, and later attended school in Ketchikan. His dad, Max Lukin, was a legendary bush pilot who helped pioneer air travel across Southeast Alaska. From an early age, Dean developed a love for flying—and for the wilderness that surrounded him.

He earned his commercial pilot license in 1994 and has since built a remarkable career flying throughout Alaska. Dean has seen Alaska from nearly every angle, flying to coastal villages near Bethel and Kotzebue and into the remote interior around Fairbanks. Along the way, he and his wife have raised five children, making their home in some of the most rugged and beautiful parts of the state. He most recently flew medevac missions in northwest Alaska before returning to his roots.

Dean brings unmatched experience, deep local knowledge, and a genuine love for Southeast Alaska. Whether you’re heading into the Misty Fjords or flying out to a remote lake, you’re in the hands of someone who knows every corner of this land—and how to share it with others.
